In our research on the topic of "thinking about the future" we learned that a lot of people are living in a "short now’ (Brian Eno, 1978, New York) and therefore don't think ahead too much. With the consequence that citizens don't feel connected and responsible for the city they live in. Talking about the future is always abstract. In this project we make the future tangible, with the participants current interest as a starting point. The future ambitions are made manifest and are continuously present by means of countdown clocks.

In het onderzoek wat we deden naar "het denken over de toekomst", leerden we dat veel mensen leven in een ‘short now’ (Brian Eno, 1978, New York) en dus niet ver vooruit denken. Dit kan tot gevolg hebben dat mensen zich niet met een stad, plek of onderwerp verbinden. Praten over de toekomst is altijd abstract. In dit project maken we de toekomst concreet, vanuit wat men nu belangrijk vindt. Dit doen we o.m met aftelklokken als continue aanwezige dragers van specifieke toekomstmomenten.
