Less +1

For decades the dominant mentality in the AgriFood sector was to produce as much as possible and to do that in the most efficient way. This resulted in all sorts of negative side effects on health and wellbeing for both humans and animals. In the project Less +1 we are looking for possible strategies to produce less and at the same time increase the value and joy in food. For the future we expect an increase of the amount of +1 ingredients. These + 1's are not literally in a product but are the additional elements we add in the way we produce, consume and give meaning to the product. Less +1 is part of the Landbouw Innovatie Campus, in which farmers, designers, students and civil servants are working on issues in the AgriFood sector.

Decennia lang was het de dominante mentaliteit in de landbouwsector om zoveel mogelijk te produceren op een zo efficiënt mogelijke manier. Dit zorgde voor allerlei negatieve effecten op het gebied van gezondheid en welzijn voor zowel dieren als mensen. In het project Less +1 zoeken we naar strategieën om minder te produceren en tegelijkertijd de waardering voor voedsel te vergroten. In de toekomst verwachten we een toename van het aantal +1 ingrediënten. Deze + 1's zitten niet letterlijk in het product, maar zijn de toegevoegde waarden die we toevoegen in de manier waarop we voedsel produceren, consumeren en van betekenis voorzien. Less +1 is onderdeel van de Landbouw Innovatie Campus. Hierin wordt samengewerkt met boeren, ontwerpers, studenten en ambtenaren.
